Raw Fresno in Fresno is introducing organic, gluten free, vegan food to their community for the first time.
Inspired by the tragic loss of her son to chronic illness, Chef Naomi decided to educate herself in raw food as a form of health and healing.
This became her passion and after winning a grant, she was able to purchase a food truck "Minerva" in 2014. Minerva frequents farmers markets and schools around the Fresno & Clovis communities, and Chef Naomi has even been asked to hold trainings for doctors on the power of raw food and probiotics. With her Feed the Hunger loan proceeds and winnings from a local business plan competition, she is opening a retail location that will serve breakfast and lunch. In the evenings, she will use the space for nutrition education classes to spread knowledge of how to use food as a tool for health.
