In October of 2020, FTHF launched a pilot project to address key challenges that street food vendors face
in their efforts to emerge from the informal economy and severally affected by the
COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Oakland granted $75,000 for the Street Food Vendor Pilot
Project, funded by the Oakland CARES Act funds to Feed The Hunger Fund (FTHF). FTHF deployed the funds in grants to 18 vendors and continues to provide comprehensive business technical assistance to more than 30 applicants and borrowers.
